AIDA Depth Competition Safety Freediver The AIDA Depth Competition Safety Freediver Course is designed for experienced freedivers who want to develop the skills, knowledge, and teamwork required to provide safety during depth freediving competitions. The course focuses on deep-water rescue techniques, coordinated safety procedures, blackout response, athlete extraction, stress management, and effective teamwork in a competition environment. Course Duration 2 Days What You’ll Learn Competition safety procedures and protocols Deep-water safety and rescue techniques Solo and team rescue procedures Recognizing and responding to loss of motor control (LMC) and blackout (BO) Safety team roles: Safety 1, Safety 2, and Safety 3 Athlete assistance and extraction procedures Hand-off to the medical team Communication and teamwork Stress management during rescue situations Competition safety theory Minimum Requirements for Certification To successfully complete the course, participants must demonstrate: Solo rescue from 20 meters Team rescue from 25 meters with a 30-second standby Ability to assist and rescue a freediver from 25 meters, including blackout scenarios occurring at random depths such as the surface, 10 m, and 25 m Ability to perform all safety team roles: Safety 1, Safety 2, and Safety 3 Proper extraction and hand-off to the medical team Ability to manage stress effectively Pass the theory examination with a minimum score of 75% Who Is This Course For?
